Hongping is a Ph.D. candidate in the NYU Shanghai–East China Normal University Joint Ph.D. Program. Her research lies at the intersection of urban ecology, urban climate, and human environmental perception. She focuses on leveraging social media and multimodal data to understand human thermal perception and comfort at large spatial and temporal scales. Her current work explores how urban morphology, visual environments, and climatic conditions shape people’s thermal experiences, with the broader goal of informing human-centered and climate-responsive urban planning and design.
